Pathology

Taikang Xianlin Gulou Hospital’s Department of Pathology has 12 medical and nursing staff: 1 doctoral student and 7 master’s students; 2 staff with senior professional titles, 2 with intermediate titles and 7 with junior titles. It has specimen reception, grossing, sectioning, immunohistochemistry, molecular laboratory, pathology diagnosis, cytology diagnosis, frozen-section preparation and diagnosis, and pathology archive rooms. Equipment includes Olympus microscopes, Nikon fluorescence microscopes, SLEE tissue microtomes, Thermo Fisher cryostats, Roche fully automated immunohistochemical stainers, Sakura fully automated staining and coverslipping systems, and other advanced pathology equipment. Routine services include histopathological examination and diagnosis of tissues from all body sites; intraoperative frozen-section examination and diagnosis; fine-needle aspiration cytology; body-fluid and exfoliative cytology; immunohistochemical staining; liquid-based thin-layer cytopreparation; cervical HPV genotyping; and molecular pathology testing.
