The Department of Neurology at Taikang Xianlin Gulou Hospital is a key specialty department in Nanjing. Its physician team includes 3 doctors with doctoral degrees, 7 with master’s degrees, 7 senior-title physicians, 2 doctoral supervisors, and 2 master’s supervisors. The department specializes in common neurological diseases and difficult, severe conditions, particularly acute cerebrovascular disease, cognitive impairment, Parkinson’s disease, myasthenia gravis, and central nervous system infections. It routinely provides intravenous and intra-arterial thrombolysis for ischemic stroke, emergency endovascular treatment, elective cerebral angiography and cerebrovascular stent placement, early screening and diagnosis and treatment of cognitive impairment, and treatment for other neurological diseases. The department has a stroke unit, a specialty outpatient clinic for cerebrovascular disease, a cognitive impairment center, and specialty clinics. It is a training base for master’s and doctoral students from Nanjing University, Wuhan University, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, Jiangsu University, and Xuzhou Medical University. In recent years, it has published more than 50 Chinese- and English-language academic papers as an independent or principal collaborating institution.
