The Department of Oncology of Taikang Xianlin Gulou Hospital integrates minimally invasive oncology, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine. It currently has 53 beds and 13 physicians (4 with doctoral degrees and 8 with master's degrees), including 4 with senior professional titles and 3 with intermediate titles; and 15 nurses, including 4 with intermediate titles, 1 oncology specialist nurse, 1 palliative-care specialist nurse and 1 intravenous-therapy specialist nurse. The department is equipped with high-end radiotherapy equipment including an intelligent digital linear accelerator, a large-bore CT simulator, the MONACO radiotherapy treatment-planning system and the MOSAIQ radiotherapy network system. It routinely performs radiotherapy, three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), image-guided intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), Elekta active breathing control (ABC), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and other new radiotherapy technologies. The Department of Oncology works closely with the Oncology Center of Nanjing Gulou Hospital and has established an online consultation platform. For complex cases, multimodal image fusion can be performed to improve radiotherapy precision. The online consultation platform can also invite experts, department directors and senior physicists from Gulou Hospital to discuss cases and review difficult target areas and treatment plans online, providing "cloud services" from experts.
