Urology

Under the leadership of Director Ge Jingping, the Department of Urology at Taikang Xianlin Gulou Hospital has developed to an initial scale with distinctive features. It currently has 53 beds and provides general outpatient services, specialist outpatient services, and nighttime emergency urology services. The department has 4 chief physicians, 5 attending physicians, 6 resident physicians, 5 doctors and postdoctoral fellows, and 9 master’s degree holders. The department specializes in minimally invasive treatment and routinely performs laparoscopic minimally invasive treatment for renal cell carcinoma, ureteral tumors, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, and adrenal tumors; transurethral resection of bladder tumors; and transurethral prostatectomy (electroresection, enucleation, and laser vaporization). It also performs ultra-minimally invasive treatments for prostate diseases, such as AI-HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) prostate ablation, prostate stent placement, and thermal steam prostate ablation. Other procedures include laparoscopic pyeloureteroplasty for ureteropelvic junction obstruction; transvaginal transobturator tension-free midurethral sling surgery (TVT-O) for female stress urinary incontinence; and the treatment of male reproductive system diseases, pediatric urological conditions, and various complex urinary tract infections.
