Stage III Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Outpatient Clinic
Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine
Introduction
The stage III lung cancer MDT clinic is composed of deputy-senior and senior experts from respiratory medicine, thoracic surgery, radiotherapy, medical oncology, radiology, nuclear medicine and pathology. Stage III (locally advanced) lung cancer accounts for about 30% of lung cancers, but patients are highly heterogeneous, so many aspects of treatment remain controversial. Individualized multidisciplinary assessment is particularly necessary: some patients can undergo surgery directly, some are suitable for radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy, and the rapid development of targeted and immunotherapy drugs has further diversified choices. The team therefore urgently develops the optimal treatment plan jointly for each patient.
