Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Multidisciplinary Clinic
Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine
Introduction
The Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) multidisciplinary team (MDT) is primarily dedicated to integrating multidisciplinary resources to provide surgical patients with more comprehensive multidisciplinary outpatient consultations and to optimize their condition before surgery, after which they are readmitted for the operation. Experts from the ERAS team across multiple specialties, including anesthesiology, surgery, respiratory therapy, and nursing, assess each patient and develop individualized perioperative plans for surgery, anesthesia, and rehabilitation. They optimize the patient's heart, lungs, and other organs to achieve the best possible preoperative condition, thereby improving perioperative safety and patient satisfaction, accelerating recovery after surgery, and conserving medical resources.
