Anti-Aging and Traditional Chinese Medicine Preventive Care Multidisciplinary Clinic
Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine
Introduction
The Anti-Aging and Preventive Treatment of Disease MDT multidisciplinary joint clinic is composed of experts with associate senior professional titles or above from the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Department of Gastroenterology, and the Department of Nutrition. It provides patients with professional, individualized treatment plans in order to achieve the best possible therapeutic outcomes. Aging syndrome is a series of clinical syndromes involving organ-function decline caused by damage. It is not simply equivalent to geriatric diseases; rather, it begins to appear from the third stage of the life cycle, at approximately 30 years of age. The prevention of aging-related diseases should adopt comprehensive measures and individualized principles, with attention to congenital factors, such as regulation and care during pregnancy and childbirth, as well as the intake and digestion of acquired nutrients, while reducing health-harming factors caused by the external environment. Traditional Chinese medicine's concept of preventive treatment of disease emphasizes “preventing disease before its onset,” “preventing progression once disease has occurred,” and “preventing relapse after illness.” At the same time, the basic principle that “the spleen and stomach are the foundation of postnatal life” has important guiding significance in clinical practice, and research on the intestinal microecology and aging is at the forefront of clinical medicine. In the diagnosis and treatment of aging-related diseases, the integrated application and synthesis of Chinese and Western medicine offer substantial advantages in multidisciplinary collaboration and are also at the leading level within the province.
