Pulmonary Nodule Multidisciplinary Outpatient Clinic
Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine
Introduction
The Lung Nodule MDT multidisciplinary clinic is jointly staffed by experts from respiratory and critical care medicine, thoracic surgery, radiology, and other specialties. It can efficiently and rapidly evaluate and differentially diagnose lung nodules and formulate an appropriate treatment plan. The Lung Nodule MDT joint clinic focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of lung nodules and improving the standard of care. Studies show that the prevalence of solitary pulmonary nodules is as high as 50%, while other epidemiological studies report that nodules are incidentally detected on CT in 31% of cases. Some lung nodules are malignant, and the probability of malignancy increases with patient age. Multidisciplinary joint diagnosis and treatment of lung nodules is particularly important, especially for multiple, high-risk nodules.
