Thyroid-Associated Ophthalmopathy Multidisciplinary Outpatient Clinic
Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine
Introduction
Thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy is the most common orbital complication of Graves' disease. A small proportion of patients progress to severe disease, leading to proptosis, diplopia, decreased vision, and even blindness, seriously affecting patients' quality of life. The need to establish an MDT outpatient clinic for thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy lies in integrating specialist resources from endocrinology, ophthalmology, head and neck surgery, and other disciplines to provide a definitive diagnosis, individualized treatment, and long-term follow-up. This can optimize diagnostic and treatment pathways, improve patient outcomes, promote multidisciplinary collaborative research, and raise the standard of clinical diagnosis and treatment.
