Critical Care Medicine Department (General ICU)
The intensive care unit (ICU) was established when the hospital opened on December 6, 2015; the Department of Critical Care Medicine was established in December 2019. It currently has 15 medical and nursing staff, including five with senior titles, nine with intermediate titles and one resident. It has 35 approved beds and 55 beds currently open.
The department is the hospital’s central unit for monitoring and treating critically ill patients. Guided by the principle ‘Life first, never give up’, it combines a medical team, monitoring and support technologies and organized management to provide round-the-clock life support and care for critically ill patients with acute or chronic organ dysfunction and failure. It supports major, complex and high-risk operations, including major organ transplants, and plays a principal role in treating critically ill surgical patients, severe postoperative complications and severe trauma. It serves as a treatment center for difficult critical illness and major organ failure from various causes. The hospital describes the department as an essential safeguard for patients’ lives and a reflection of its overall medical capability.
