Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
The Department of Orthopedics is located at Shuguang Hospital's West Campus and is a highly efficient integrated team comprising 2 chief physicians, 1 associate chief physician, 2 PhD holders, and 4 master's degree holders. Upholding an integrated approach combining traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, its main areas of focus include joint diseases, spinal diseases, complex trauma, and bone and soft-tissue tumors. Surgical treatment is the primary approach, supplemented by the highly influential treatment formulas and medicines of Shi's Traumatology and various manipulative techniques, in conjunction with perioperative treatment and postoperative rehabilitation, achieving better therapeutic outcomes than those obtained with any single method. The department has accumulated extensive experience in numerous successful operations, including hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow joint replacement and revision surgeries; surgical repair for femoral head necrosis; various decompression, reduction, and internal fixation procedures for the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine; arthroscopy; minimally invasive spinal plasty; internal fixation for complex trauma at various sites; and tissue repair and functional reconstruction after surgery for complex tumors. Its diagnostic and treatment capabilities rank among the leading in China.
