The outpatient service includes general outpatient clinics and specialized clinics for pulmonary nodules and lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal tumors, chest wall tumors and deformities, and postoperative rehabilitation for lung cancer. It routinely performs common cardiothoracic surgery diagnosis and treatment procedures at tertiary hospitals, including minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery for diseases such as pulmonary bullae, pulmonary nodules, lung cancer, mediastinal tumors, esophageal cancer, and primary palmar hyperhidrosis; surgical treatment of chest wall diseases (tumors and deformities); minimally invasive endovascular stent-graft repair of aortic dissection and abdominal aortic aneurysm; and treatment of severe thoracic trauma. Among these, minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery has an application rate of over 98% in the treatment of thoracic diseases such as pulmonary nodules, lung cancer, hemopneumothorax, mediastinal tumors, esophageal tumors, primary palmar hyperhidrosis, and pectus excavatum. The department routinely performs uniportal thoracoscopic resection of pulmonary bullae, lobectomy, precision segmentectomy, mediastinal tumor resection, thoracic sympathetic chain transection for palmar hyperhidrosis, and the NUSS procedure for pectus excavatum. These procedures cause little surgical trauma, enable rapid recovery, and produce aesthetically pleasing incisions. Adhering to the principle of leveraging the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine and integrating Chinese and Western medicine, the department actively performs surgical treatment of thoracic and cardiac great-vessel diseases and explores a whole-course management model featuring traditional Chinese medicine. During patients’ preoperative and postoperative rehabilitation stages, syndrome-differentiated treatment with traditional Chinese medicine and appropriate traditional Chinese medicine techniques such as the “Six-Character Formula,” “Eight-Section Brocade Breathing Exercises in Bed,” acupuncture, and tuina are used to promote rapid recovery from disease. Focusing on the advantageous disease “pulmonary nodules,” the department continuously optimizes integrated Chinese and Western diagnosis and treatment protocols and has developed a traditional Chinese medicine characteristic technical treatment protocol featuring syndrome-differentiated treatment with traditional Chinese medicine and accelerated recovery through the application of appropriate traditional Chinese medicine techniques during the perioperative period. 【Department Group Photo】
