In 2025, the department introduced the “Three Famous” Project—the Traditional Chinese Medicine coloproctology disease team of Professor Yu Yongduo from Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ranked first nationwide in influence in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine coloproctology)—which significantly improved the specialty’s clinical diagnosis and treatment and research capabilities. The department upholds the core philosophy of “Traditional Chinese Medicine as the foundation, with reference to Western medicine,” fully leverages the distinctive strengths of Traditional Chinese medicine, and has developed Traditional Chinese medicine pills such as Shengdu Pingmu Pill, Xianyu Hemostatic Pill, and Pain-Relieving Hemorrhoid-Reducing Pill, as well as Traditional Chinese medicine pastes such as Polyp-Interception Paste, Kidney-Nourishing and Intestine-Moistening Constipation-Relieving Paste, and Intestine-Firming Ulcer-Healing Paste. On this basis, the department has introduced advanced examination technologies including 360° transanal color Doppler ultrasound, high-definition perianal MRI scanning, and dynamic defecography, and, combined with minimally invasive techniques such as TST, elastic-band ligation, hemorrhoid injection, and anal fistula seton placement, as well as external treatment methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine, provides patients with efficient, precise, and individualized diagnostic and treatment services. At present, the department has obtained 32 utility model patents, 2 design patents, 4 national invention patents, and 2 international invention patents, and its capabilities in scientific research and achievement transformation continue to improve. 【Department Group Photograph】
