【Department Establishment History】 The Department of Obstetrics of Shenzhen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was the first independent obstetrics department established among China’s Grade III Class A general hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine. 【Department Honors】 【Department Leadership】 Since the Department of Obstetrics became an independent department in 2017, Professor Feng Jun has served as its administrative director and made outstanding contributions to its development. Since 2021, Director Huang Ya has been responsible for the department. 【Scope of Research】 Integrating clinical care, teaching, and scientific research, the department provides integrated Chinese and Western medicine diagnostic, treatment, and healthcare services in the field of perinatal medicine. It adheres to the integration of Chinese and Western medicine and gives equal emphasis to both, incorporating traditional Chinese medicine throughout the entire process from preconception and pregnancy through labor and the postpartum period. Based on the holistic concept of traditional Chinese medicine + modern obstetric technology, it safeguards the health of mothers and babies and creates a warm, safe, and distinctive pregnancy and childbirth experience. Preconception and pregnancy: It uses syndrome-differentiated Chinese herbal medicine, auricular acupressure with seeds, moxibustion, acupoint application, and other methods to regulate constitution, relieve nausea and vomiting of pregnancy, support pregnancy and conception, and improve gestational edema, constipation, and other discomforts. Labor support: It uses traditional Chinese medicine acupoint stimulation and Chinese herbal medicine to support labor, reduce pain, and promote vaginal delivery. Postpartum rehabilitation: Specialized Chinese herbal decoctions, Chinese herbal foot baths, fumigation and washing, acupuncture, tuina, and postpartum herbal paste formulas help expel lochia, promote and facilitate lactation, improve postpartum physical weakness, spontaneous sweating, and depression, and restore pelvic floor function. Newborn care: It provides traditional Chinese medicine medicated baths for newborns to assist in alleviating jaundice, strengthening the spleen, dispelling dampness, and regulating constitution. 【Department Services】 The Department of Obstetrics has an obstetrics outpatient clinic, an antenatal area, a delivery room, a baby-friendly area, and a school for pregnant women. The obstetrics outpatient clinic provides one-stop outpatient, laboratory testing, and functional examination services; using information technology, it has built a “Smart Obstetrics” platform and simplified the processes for establishing pregnancy records and undergoing prenatal checkups. It provides a 24-hour emergency green channel and multidisciplinary collaborative treatment for critically ill patients. It specializes in integrated services for normal delivery, high-risk pregnancy management, dystocia management, and postpartum rehabilitation, and offers antenatal midwifery assessment, various forms of obstetric analgesia, continuous doula-supported childbirth, VIP family-style services, and more, providing patients with more convenient and safer medical services. 【Department Group Photo】
