【Department Establishment History】 The Preventive Treatment Center was established in 2008 【Department Honors】 One of the first batch of national pilot units for TCM “preventive treatment”、a unit participating in the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s priority-support project for the construction of TCM “preventive treatment” service capacity、a pilot unit for the Guangdong Province TCM “preventive treatment” health project、a unit for the construction of Guangdong Province TCM preventive healthcare and rehabilitation service capacity、a key TCM specialty in Guangdong Province、a Guangdong Province TCM “preventive treatment” service unit rated AAAAA、the Shenzhen TCM “preventive treatment” Health Guidance Center、the Shenzhen Guidance Center for primary-level TCM work and “preventive treatment” work、the Shenzhen Training Base for TCM “preventive treatment” and appropriate TCM techniques、the chairing unit of the Shenzhen Preventive Treatment Alliance、a Shenzhen specialty with distinctive features。 【Department Leadership】 Professor Wang Dongcai served as the department’s administrative director and made outstanding contributions to the department’s establishment and development。Starting in 2024、Professor Wu Haibin has served as the person in charge of the department。 【Research Scope】 The department is dedicated to preventive health management for all populations、including people with sub-health conditions、people with imbalanced constitutions、people with chronic diseases (hypertension、hyperglycemia、hyperlipidemia、hyperuricemia、metabolic syndrome)、women (pre-pregnancy、postpartum、menstruation、menopause、beauty and skincare、anti-aging)、people with chronic fatigue、people with sleep disorders、people with allergic rhinitis、people with neck、shoulder、lower-back and leg pain、people managing their weight、people who are sensitive to cold and prone to colds、and other groups。 【Department Operations】 The department currently has 11 physicians、including 1 nationally outstanding TCM clinical talent、1 outstanding TCM practitioner in Shenzhen、1 Shenzhen elite talent、and 2 key talents for inheriting distinctive TCM clinical techniques in Pengcheng；2 chief physicians、1 deputy chief physician、6 attending physicians、and 2 master’s student supervisors。The annual outpatient volume exceeds 6 ten-thousand patient visits。It operates sub-specialty outpatient clinics for deficiency fatigue (chronic fatigue syndrome)、insomnia (sleep disorders)、TCM weight management、sub-health conditioning、distinctive acupuncture therapies、and other conditions。With support from Shenzhen’s healthcare “Three Famous” Project、it introduced the TCM collateral-disease research team led by Academician Wu Yiling of Hebei Medical University、raising the clinical and research standards of the specialty；it promotes the transmission of the academic thought of eminent senior TCM physicians、and the department established the Professor Wang Dongcai Academic Experience Inheritance Studio。 The department adheres to the TCM preventive-treatment philosophy and、in clinical practice、uses the “Three Si、Three Bian” theory as its guiding framework。Through acupuncture、cupping、medication、collateral pricking、and moxibustion、it provides comprehensive、three-dimensional interventions targeting the skin、vessels、flesh、sinews、and bones to regulate and smooth the movement of qi、restore the balance of the five zang organs and six fu organs、and seek to achieve “balanced yin and secured yang、whereby the spirit is harmonized”。For different populations and disease types、it provides more than 40 distinctive TCM therapies。It has led or participated in 15 national、provincial、municipal、and other research projects、with funding exceeding 2200 ten-thousand yuan、won 1 Third Prize for Science and Technology from the China Association of Chinese Medicine、published more than 100 papers in domestic and international academic journals、published 10 specialty monographs、was granted 4 invention patents and 12 utility model patents、and obtained 3 computer software copyrights。 The Preventive Treatment Center of Shenzhen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine actively promotes the construction of a TCM preventive-treatment service system in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area that covers all populations、the entire process、and the entire life cycle、and took the lead in establishing a new TCM preventive-treatment health-management model integrating six elements: TCM health information collection、TCM health-status detection and assessment、TCM health consultation and conditioning、TCM health intervention、TCM health follow-up、and TCM health education。It promotes the shift from “disease-centered” to “health-centered” and strives to enable people not to become ill or to become ill less often。 【Department Group Photo】
