【Department Establishment History】 The Health Examination Department was established in 2000 and has developed steadily for more than 20 years. In 2022, the Health Examination Department at the Futian Campus moved to the fifth floor of the Comprehensive Building. In November 2024, the Health Examination Department at the Guangming Campus officially began operations, forming an integrated development structure of one hospital with two campuses.

【Department Honors】 The department is part of the only traditional Chinese medicine hospital in Shenzhen qualified to conduct physical examinations for civil-servant recruitment. It is currently a deputy-chairing institution of the Health Management Branch of the Shenzhen Medical Association and a deputy-chairing institution of the Health Management and Promotion Association Branch of the Shenzhen Hospital Association.

【Department Leadership】 Comrades Wang Feng and Lu Riming successively served as persons in charge of the department, laying a solid foundation for its development. In May 2023, Comrade Yang Wei became department director, leading the department’s continued development and service upgrades.

【Research Scope】 Guided by the core concepts of “preventing illness before it arises, preventing progression after illness occurs, and preventing recurrence after illness,” the department focuses on various health examinations, specialized examinations, traditional Chinese medicine constitution identification, subhealth assessment, chronic-disease risk screening, and post-examination health management services.

【Department Operations】 The Health Examination Department has two examination areas, at the Futian Campus and the Guangming Campus, with a clean environment and one-stop processes. It has 19 medical and nursing staff members, including 3 with senior professional titles, 13 with intermediate professional titles, and 2 with junior professional titles; its professional structure is well balanced and its technical capabilities are solid. It serves 60,000–70,000 person-visits for examinations annually.

As a government-designated health examination institution, it can undertake group and individual health examinations, as well as specialized examinations for civil-servant/teacher recruitment, household-registration procedures, drivers, and other purposes. It can customize personalized examination plans according to basic factors such as age, sex, underlying medical history, and family history. The department offers ultrasound, CT, MRI, gastroscopy and colonoscopy, carbon-13 testing, fundus-disease screening, sleep monitoring, genetic testing, routine laboratory tests, and other services. It also offers distinctive services, including traditional Chinese medicine constitution identification and meridian examinations, highlighting the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in preventive treatment.

The department has established a full-chain service covering pre-examination assessment, precision examinations, professional comprehensive review, and post-examination intervention. Drawing on the hospital’s traditional Chinese medicine strengths, it provides subhealth conditioning, chronic-disease management, and interventions using appropriate traditional Chinese medicine techniques, as well as extended services such as report interpretation, health guidance, specialist referrals, and hospitalization coordination. For groups, it provides on-site health lectures, report interpretation, and free medical consultations, thereby building a complete health management system.

The department attaches great importance to quality-control development, improves its core systems and job responsibilities, and has successfully passed the municipal health-management quality-control inspection. It has launched a diversified new-media science-popularization matrix to disseminate health knowledge. It has led or participated in 9 scientific research projects at various levels and published more than 30 academic papers, continuously improving its professional capabilities and service standards.

Adhering to the traditional Chinese medicine concept of preventive treatment and remaining customer-centered, the Health Examination Department will continue to optimize its service processes and strengthen medical quality, build a high-quality, full-cycle health management brand integrating Chinese and Western medicine, and safeguard the health of the general public.
