It operates specialized disease outpatient clinics, including a 24h fever outpatient clinic, intestinal outpatient clinic, and infectious diseases internal medicine outpatient clinic, and focuses intensively on fever and infectious diseases. The department has brought together a group of young core professionals who are full of vitality and determined to make progress. All team members graduated from renowned medical colleges and universities in China and subsequently went to Peking Union Medical College Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, and other leading Western medicine hospitals in China for further study, systematically mastering internationally advanced techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. In the field of traditional Chinese medicine, team members went to Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other leading TCM hospitals in China for specialized study of the classics of traditional Chinese medicine. Guided by the principle of “inheriting the essence, upholding orthodoxy, and innovating”, they have devoted themselves to the in-depth study of the classic works Treatise on Cold Damage and Systematic Differentiation of Warm Diseases, conducted meticulous research into the patterns and characteristics of treating infectious diseases with classical formulas, and developed a distinctive diagnostic and treatment model of “precise diagnosis by Western medicine and syndrome differentiation and treatment by traditional Chinese medicine”. Taking the “integration of classical TCM theory and the basic theories of modern medicine” as a breakthrough point, the department focuses on research topics including the antibacterial/antiviral mechanisms of classical formulas, such as Xiao Chai Hu Tang and Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang, and strategies for reversing drug-resistant bacteria, promoting the deep integration of classical TCM theory and modern medical theory and elucidating the underlying logic of treating infectious diseases with traditional Chinese medicine. At the same time, it is developing integrated Chinese and Western medicine diagnostic and treatment pathways for infectious diseases and exploring a whole-process management model of “preventing disease before it occurs and preventing changes after disease has occurred”. The department currently has finished preparations of agreed prescriptions such as Yinqiao Jiedu San and Jiangni Zhike San. It also provides TCM-specific therapies, including local fumigation, acupuncture and moxibustion, acupuncture bloodletting, ear-acupoint seed pressing, acupoint application, and ginger-spread moxibustion, combined with oral Chinese herbal medicines to improve clinical efficacy. Guided by the service principle of “regarding patients as family”, the department practices the service standards of “emphasizing treatment efficacy, strengthening communication, and providing warmth”. Relying on its integrated Chinese and Western medicine diagnostic and treatment system, it strives to build a high-level discipline that “we ourselves can trust and the people can rely on”, providing patients with whole-cycle health management from the treatment of acute and critical illnesses to chronic disease care. As a young team combining an international outlook with a profound TCM foundation, the department has always upheld the belief that “inheritance should not be bound by antiquity, and innovation should not depart from the principles”, and is determined to build itself into a regional center of excellence for integrated Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, enabling thousand-year-old classical formulas to take on new life on the modern battlefield against infections! 【Department Group Photo】
