Urology Shanghai United Family Hospital and the Department of Urology of Renji Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine have established a strategic partnership. The two sides will leverage their respective strengths and make joint efforts in sharing management experience, jointly cultivating the high-end market, and promoting experience in the diagnosis and treatment of specialized urological diseases. The specially established areas of cooperation in specialized urological diseases are: early screening for urinary system tumors; intracavitary treatment of urinary tract stones; adult and pediatric male health; bladder and prostate diseases; and advanced general urology consultation services. Fixed outpatient clinics are available every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The Department of Urology of Shanghai Renji Hospital is one of the earlier independent urology departments established in China and has a history of more than 70 years. The Department of Urology of Renji Hospital is a training site for Chinese urological specialists and an International Urological Association (SIU) training site. In 2001, with the approval of the Health Bureau, the Shanghai Institute of Andrology was established, and in the same year the national SFDA pharmacology base was established in the Department of Urology of Shanghai Renji Hospital. In 2003, the Shanghai Human Sperm Bank was established in the Renji Urology Department with the approval of the Ministry of Health. In 2012, the Department of Urology of Shanghai Renji Hospital was rated a “National Clinical Key Specialty” by the Ministry of Health.
