Nuclear Radiation Department
The Department of Nuclear Radiation, as a major component of the Shanghai Nuclear Radiation Medical Rescue Base, was officially established in April 2010 and was included in our hospital’s “12th Five-Year Work Plan” as part of key-discipline development. The Nuclear Radiation Medical Rescue Team, formed primarily by the Department of Nuclear Radiation, made significant contributions to the World Expo medical support efforts and was awarded the title of Advanced Collective for World Expo Medical and Health Support Work in the Shanghai municipal health system. The Department of Nuclear Radiation currently has 8 professional staff members, including personnel in radiation protection, radiation medicine, nuclear physics, and clinical medicine. Among them are 2 physicians (including 1 chief physician), 1 registered nuclear safety engineer, 5 technicians, and 5 staff members with postgraduate or higher educational qualifications. Relying on the resource advantages of the national-level Nuclear Radiation Medical Rescue Base, the Department has now been developed into a department integrating emergency medical rescue for nuclear and radiation accidents, medical care, testing and evaluation, and scientific research.
