Presbyopia Surgery Clinic
Presbyopia is a physiological phenomenon characterized by decreased near vision caused by reduced accommodative ability with increasing age. Almost everyone develops presbyopia after the age of 40, including patients with refractive errors such as myopia and hyperopia. As people’s lifestyles and work patterns change, near vision is assuming an increasingly important role. Presbyopia, also called age-related farsightedness, can be treated not only with reading glasses but also through surgery. For this reason, our hospital has established a dedicated presbyopia surgery outpatient clinic. Presbyopia surgery is divided into two categories: corneal presbyopia surgery, which primarily uses laser corneal ablation; and intraocular presbyopia surgery, which involves implanting multifocal or accommodating intraocular lenses in the eye to enable both distance and near vision.
