Olympic Sports Campus – Ward 1

Ward 1 of the Olympic Sports Center Campus of the Department of Urology at Shandong Provincial Hospital, under the leadership of Ward Director Professor Jiang Shaobo, upholds the philosophy of “making hypertension surgery its distinctive specialty, minimally invasive surgical technology its core, and wholeheartedly serving patients”, actively strives for progress and continues to grow and expand. At present, the department has 38 open beds, a medical team of 11 members, a nursing team of 16 members, more than 1800 patients discharged annually, and more than 1500 minimally invasive operations of various types each year.

Professor Jiang Shaobo, director of the ward, enjoys a prestigious reputation at home and abroad in the fields of hypertension surgery and adrenal surgery, and is currently a leading figure in hypertension and adrenal surgery in China. The department performs more than 600 adrenal operations of various types annually, and the technical level and volume of laparoscopic adrenal surgery rank among the national leaders. The department is the chairing institution for the Multidisciplinary Joint Committee on Secondary Hypertension of the Shandong Medical Association and the Urology Branch of the Shandong Medical Doctors Association, and is also an institution serving on the editorial board for the Chinese Urological Association’s guidelines on adrenal surgery; adrenal hypertension surgery has been named a Shandong Provincial Clinical Quality Specialty.

The department’s scope of practice also covers all urological subspecialties: its laparoscopic and robotic minimally invasive surgical techniques for all types of renal tumors are comprehensive, with nephron-sparing surgery as a distinctive strength; it performs minimally invasive endoscopic surgery for all types of urinary stones, with less trauma and faster recovery; its diagnostic and treatment techniques for lower urinary tract diseases such as prostate cancer and bladder cancer follow the latest international guidelines, and it routinely performs total laparoscopic cystectomy, radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer, and other lower urinary tract tumor operations; it has distinctive technical strengths in areas such as female stress urinary incontinence and neurogenic bladder, with prominent subspecialty expertise.

The department’s nursing team is a vibrant, united, forward-looking, learning-oriented team with extensive clinical experience, and has repeatedly been named an “Excellent Angel Team” and an “Excellent Teaching Team”, upholding the service philosophy of “patient-centeredness” and wholeheartedly providing patients with high-quality nursing services that are delivered throughout the entire care process, comprehensive, professional, humanized, and individualized.
