The Cancer Research and Treatment Center of Shandong Provincial Hospital is a professional department for comprehensive cancer treatment in Shandong Province. It integrates medical care, teaching, scientific research and management. It is the teaching, master's and doctoral program of clinical oncology of Shandong University. It consists of tumor radiotherapy, tumor chemotherapy, tumor hyperthermia and minimally invasive tumor wards. It currently has nearly 200 employees, more than 300 beds, and an annual income of 170 million yuan, including 2 doctoral supervisors, 6 master's supervisors, 16 professors and chief physicians, 28 associate professors and deputy chief physicians, and more than 60 clinical professional and technical personnel with doctoral or master's degrees and expertise. They have systematic theoretical knowledge, rich treatment experience, and strong scientific research capabilities. They have held different positions in various professional academic groups at home and in the province for many years. They have continuously applied the most advanced scientific research results and treatment technologies at home and abroad to clinical medical work, providing good treatment conditions for the majority of tumor patients. While achieving significant clinical treatment effects, they have also achieved good social benefits, and are at the leading level in the province in the comprehensive treatment of common tumors.

The Cancer Research and Treatment Center of Shandong Provincial Hospital is equipped with the world's most advanced American Varian Trilogy medical linear accelerator and Germany's Siemens Primus-H medical linear accelerator, a fully digital medical simulation positioning machine and treatment dose verification system produced by Nucletron in the Netherlands, a Philips Pinnacle treatment planning system and a large-aperture CT simulation positioning machine. It also cooperates with the PET-CT room, MRI room, CT room, B-ultrasound room, laboratory department, pathology department and nuclear medicine department of the hospital to play an active and leading role in the early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment of common tumors, as well as in the clinical standardized comprehensive treatment of common tumors. The treatment center mainly studies comprehensive treatments such as radiotherapy and drug therapy for various common tumors, including certain benign diseases, as well as related radiophysics, radiobiology, radiotherapy technology, cell proliferation kinetics and drug metabolism kinetics. In recent years, new clinical treatment technologies such as tumor interventional therapy, arteriovenous dual-channel chemotherapy for liver cancer, radiofrequency therapy, and biological and immunotherapy have been carried out. Among them, new treatment technologies such as stereotactic radiosurgery (X-knife), three-dimensional conformal irradiation (CRT), and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) are world-leading topics in the field of cancer medicine carried out by the center in recent years. The development of the above work marks that Shandong Provincial Hospital has approached or reached the world's advanced level in basic cancer research and clinical treatment.
