Core services are precisely organized around clinical needs. The Pharmaceutical Procurement and Supply Department strictly controls drug admission and quality to ensure accurate and efficient supply of medicines throughout the hospital. The Medication Dispensing and Intravenous Medication Preparation Departments use standardized processes and professional operations to achieve precise dispensing and safe infusion. Clinical pharmacists are stationed in wards to participate in rounds and consultations, conduct therapeutic drug monitoring, formulate individualized medication plans and monitor adverse drug reactions. The department also runs pharmacy outpatient clinics, routinely providing medication education and prescription interpretation to support rational medication use. The Clinical Pharmacology Department has long focused on Phase I clinical trials and has undertaken approximately 10 studies per year in recent years, conducting research precisely and strictly controlling safety to provide a firm foundation for drug marketing and promote pharmaceutical innovation.
The department values coordinated development of teaching and research. It undertakes clinical internships and teaching for undergraduates and graduate students in clinical pharmacy at Shandong First Medical University and regularly holds academic lectures and skills training. Over the past 3 years, it has led or participated in 15 national-, provincial- and municipal-level research projects, published more than 110 papers in SCI and core journals, including more than 50 SCI papers, with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 210, and obtained 2 invention patents, using research innovation to continuously optimize its pharmaceutical service model.
