Health Management Centre
The Health Management Center of Shandong Provincial Hospital was established in April 2002. It comprises three health examination centers—Health Management Center Department 1 (Central Campus), Health Management Center Department 2 (Central Campus), and the Olympic Sports Campus Health Management Center (Olympic Sports Campus)—as well as a VIP Special Area. It is the first professional medical service institution in our province to integrate health examinations and health management, and is the largest and most technically well-equipped of its kind. It currently has medical personnel in multiple specialties, including internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, and stomatology. Its disciplinary echelon is gradually taking shape, and it undertakes undergraduate and junior college teaching and internship supervision for health management programs at multiple colleges and universities in the province. The department currently has 86 staff members, including 19 doctors (including 6 chief physicians, 4 associate chief physicians, and 8 attending physicians, comprising physicians from multiple specialties such as cardiovascular medicine, endocrinology, neurology, and oncology), 51 nurses (1 chief nurse and 7 associate chief nurses), 9 technicians and other staff (including 1 associate chief technician); and 6 guidance nurses, including 9 staff members with doctoral degrees (2 postdoctoral fellows currently in residence) and 10 with master's degrees. Over the past 5 years, a total of 24 articles have been published, including 19 SCI articles, with 12 first authors and 10 corresponding authors.
The center covers a total area of 11,000 square meters and is equipped with internationally advanced 3.0T 32-channel high-field magnetic resonance imaging, Siemens dual-source CT, Toshiba 640 CT, GE HD750 gemstone spectral CT, and other high-end spiral CT systems, as well as advanced equipment such as the Ankon AKC-1 capsule endoscopy system. It also has PET/CT, digital gastrointestinal imaging, mammography, DR, abdominal and cardiac color Doppler ultrasound, transcranial Doppler, bone density detectors, arteriosclerosis detectors, body composition analyzers, cardiac function testers, and other advanced examination instruments and equipment, as well as advanced equipment including fully automated biochemical analyzers and fluorescence immunoassay systems.
The center has always followed the guiding principle that “quality is life and service is excellence,” and adhered to the standards of “exquisite technology, an elite team, cutting-edge equipment, attentive service, meticulous management, and high-quality disciplines,” providing full-process and full-cycle health management services for healthy and subhealthy populations. In recent years, the center has worked on improving the experience, technical standards, management systems, and information development; optimized the health examination process; strengthened discipline development; consolidated its professional team; and continuously improved the quality and level of its services. Beginning in 2018, the center took the lead in carrying out early screening, early diagnosis, and health management programs for diseases including obesity and diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and tumors, and undertook the National “Chronic Disease--Cancer Screening and Early Diagnosis Training Program.” In 2021, it completed the construction of an integrated health management platform, realizing the development of an information platform comprising four modules: appointment management, pre-examination assessment, intelligent examination guidance, and health monitoring, assessment, and management.
Relying on the hospital’s high-quality resources and technological advantages, the service quality, service standards, and brand influence of the Health Management Center have continuously improved. It undertakes health management services for key healthcare beneficiaries in Shandong Province and academicians stationed in Shandong; for many consecutive years, it has undertaken health examination tasks for civil servants and personnel recruited by public institutions organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and the Health Commission. It has become one of the first group of project institutions in the national pilot program for innovative integration in the prevention and control of major chronic diseases; one of the 22 “Health Management Demonstration Bases” nationwide designated in the first group by the Health Management Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; and has received honors including “Top Ten Health Examination Institutions” in Chinese health management, “Shandong Provincial Youth Civilization Unit,” “Advanced Collective in Health Care and Health Management in Shandong Province,” and “Shandong Provincial Women’s Civilized Demonstration Post.” It is also the lead organization of the Health Examination and Assessment Specialized Committee of the Shandong Health Management Association, the incoming lead organization of the Health Management Branch of the Shandong Medical Association, and the incoming lead organization of the Health Management Branch of the Shandong Medical Doctor Association.
