Olympic Sports Campus Ward 2

Located on the 10th floor of Building 3 at the Olympic Sports Campus of Provincial Hospital, the department has 36 beds. Ward director: Director Xia Qinghua, Shandong University, doctoral supervisor at Shandong First Medical University, level-3 professor, and chief physician. He mainly engages in minimally invasive treatment of urinary system tumors and related basic research. He specializes in minimally invasive procedures such as robot-assisted and laparoscopic-assisted partial nephrectomy for renal tumors and nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer. The department is currently divided into 4 specialist groups: renal tumor diseases, renal cystic diseases, urinary continence disorders, and stone diseases. The renal cystic disease group performs minimally invasive treatment of polycystic kidney disease. It was the first internationally to propose using kidney volume as the criterion for polycystic kidney decortication and decompression surgery, the first to propose treating polycystic kidney disease with renal capsule stripping combined with decortication and decompression surgery, and the first to propose, among other views, treating residual cysts inside the kidney after polycystic kidney surgery through internal drainage via flexible ureteroscopy; these views have been applied in clinical work with good results. Nearly 200 polycystic kidney surgeries are performed annually on average; the volume of surgery for a single disease ranks first nationwide; patients come from all over the country, and approximately 30% come from outside Shandong Province. Urinary continence group: it was the first in the entire province to perform bladder augmentation using a biological patch. This year, it newly began performing total pelvic floor reconstruction in women, bulbar urethral suspension surgery for male urinary incontinence, laparoscopic intestinal bladder augmentation, and lateral abdominal wall suspension for middle-compartment pelvic organ prolapse in women.
