Health Care Neurology Department

The Department of Health Neurology was established in 2002. Under the leadership of department director Liu Xueping, after more than 10 years of continuous development, it has developed into a professional discipline integrating clinical, teaching and scientific research. It has an anti-aging testing room and advocates a department culture of "benevolence, dedication, learning and dedication". Providing full, all-round, humanized and high-quality services to each patient is the goal pursued by all colleagues in the Department of Health Neurology.

Currently, there are 7 doctors and 9 nurses in the department, including 1 chief physician, 3 deputy chief physicians, 2 attending physicians, 1 physician, and 1 doctoral supervisor. The professional team has high academic qualifications and technical levels, including 5 medical doctors and 2 PhD candidates.

Served as 2 members of the national society, 1 deputy director of the provincial society, and 4 members of the provincial society.

It has 16 beds and discharges approximately 400 patients annually. We insist on taking the pathogenesis and prevention of cerebrovascular diseases, cognitive impairment, neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson's disease, etc.) as the focus of clinical diagnosis, treatment and scientific research, and have established a relatively complete set of diagnosis and treatment procedures. We will move the prevention and treatment of the above diseases forward, and strive to promote the secondary prevention of cerebrovascular diseases, as well as the early identification and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases. Through early intervention, treatment can be timely and effective, and the recurrence rate and disability rate of neurodegenerative diseases can be reduced to the greatest extent. In recent years, the department has carried out carotid plaque monitoring and intervention, drug gene testing, interventional rehabilitation training; pneumatic therapy; cerebellar fastigial nucleus stimulation; neurological function reconstruction; swallowing training and cognitive function training and other measures to effectively improve patients' quality of life. The department currently has 5 national second-level psychological counselors and 2 internationally certified hypnotists. They are dedicated to neuropsychological and sleep disorder monitoring and intervention. By integrating neurobioelectricity, electrophysiology, EEG, external counterpulsation, transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy, quantum touch therapy and other technologies, the department provides personalized treatment for stroke functional rehabilitation, headache, insomnia and other patients, and has achieved good results.

Over the years, we have adhered to the organic combination of clinical practice and scientific research, and continuously improved our ability to solve complex clinical problems. It has successively carried out basic and clinical research on the treatment of cerebral blood vessels by mild hypothermia, carried out research on GDNF and bFGF gene-transfected mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) and MSC in vitro neuron-like differentiation and stem cell gene transfection and transplantation for the treatment of cerebral ischemia and Parkinson's disease. It has also carried out research on the impact of diabetes and insulin resistance on cognitive function and dementia and related mechanisms. It has also carried out research on the pathological mechanism and intervention of target organ damage in hypertension, all of which have achieved gratifying results. The relevant research results have become a clinical measure to rescue critical cerebrovascular diseases.

Received 9 scientific research achievements, including 4 Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards, 2 Shandong Provincial Medical Science and Technology Progress Awards, 2 Shandong Provincial Natural Science Awards, and 1 Medical Innovation Award. Hosted 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 1 Central Health Bureau special fund project, 5 Provincial Natural Science Fund projects, and 1 department health project project. As a master's and doctoral training unit in geriatrics at Shandong University School of Medicine, it has trained more than 20 masters and 8 doctoral students so far. He has published more than 60 papers in core journals at home and abroad, including more than 10 SCI articles, and published more than 10 monographs.

The nursing team is dedicated to their work, unites and strives hard, and the professional and high-quality overall nursing model has benefited the majority of patients a lot. It is one of the top ten nursing brand departments in the provincial hospital, and one of them is one of the top ten nurses in the provincial hospital.

In addition to the daily heavy ward outpatient and intra-department consultation work, our department is also responsible for health care visits inside and outside the province, as well as local and remote consultation tasks.
