General Practice

The Department of General Practice of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University was established in 2018 and is a second-level clinical discipline whose main features are the management of chronic diseases across organ systems, comprehensive management of multimorbidity, the diagnosis and treatment of undifferentiated health problems (edema, fatigue, emaciation, obesity, dizziness, chest pain, etc.), and comprehensive assessment and management of health problems. The Teaching and Research Section of General Practice was established in October 2015. In 2020, it was recognized as a National Excellent Base for Standardized Residency Training in the General Practice Specialty. It offers a General Practice Specialty Outpatient Clinic, an edema/fatigue disease-specific outpatient clinic (Beidajie Main Hospital Campus, Daminggong Campus), a weight management (obesity/emaciation) outpatient clinic, and a teaching outpatient clinic for General Practice residency training (Daminggong Campus). It is the lead institution of the Shaanxi General Practice Specialty Alliance for quality, standardization, and homogenized diagnosis and treatment, a member institution of the Scientific Research Collaboration Center of the China Primary Healthcare Scientific Research Collaboration Network, and a national drug clinical trial specialty.
