Main Campus Minimally Invasive Interventional Treatment Center
Department Scale (including beds, personnel composition/technical capabilities, medical facilities and large high-end medical equipment, etc.) Our hospital's interventional services began in the 1970s of the 20th century, making it one of the earliest hospitals in China to carry out interventional work. The department was established in 1991. In 1997, it became an independent department and was designated a first-level department. The Main Campus Minimally Invasive Interventional Treatment Center team comprises medical, nursing, and imaging technology professionals, with a well-balanced composition of professional titles and educational backgrounds. The Center is equipped with advanced equipment such as a large digital subtraction angiography system, multi-slice CT, mobile CT, color Doppler ultrasound, and IVUS. It has an interventional ward, outpatient services, a laminar-flow interventional operating room, a Class 100 hybrid operating room, independent research and teaching systems, and a joint medical-engineering laboratory. It has a profound academic foundation. Scope of Diagnosis and Treatment All levels of interventional procedures listed in the surgical catalogue of the National Health Commission are performed. The main services include minimally invasive interventional treatments for benign and malignant tumors, such as vascular intervention, ablation, and radioactive particle implantation; minimally invasive hemostasis for gastrointestinal hemorrhage, bleeding from ruptured organs, hemoptysis, and obstetric hemorrhage; interventional catheter-directed thrombolysis for pulmonary embolism and peripheral vascular thrombosis; interventional treatment of luminal obstruction and stenosis of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, and other tracts; comprehensive interventional treatment of portal hypertension, Budd–Chiari syndrome, and hypersplenism; minimally invasive interventional treatment of peripheral vascular stenosis and occlusion; minimally invasive interventional treatment of peripheral vascular aneurysms, malformations, and fistulas; puncture drainage and sclerotherapy for abscesses and cysts; infusion port implantation; angiography of blood vessels at all sites, tissue and cell biopsy... Disciplinary Features/Technical Advantages The Main Campus Minimally Invasive Interventional Treatment Center is rooted in the field of minimally invasive intervention and at the forefront of internationally advanced interventional technologies. It leverages the rapid development of international interventional medicine, capitalizes on its comprehensive technical strengths, carries out clinical technology applications and evidence-based evaluation research in all specialized subfields, actively promotes the development, application, and clinical application evaluation research of new technologies integrating medicine and engineering, explores and conducts research on clinical diagnosis and treatment standards and efficacy evaluation, and conducts clinical experimental research on new interventional instruments, equipment, and technologies. It has established a joint medical-engineering laboratory and continues to maintain a leading advantage in the specialized medical-engineering research track. It conducts ongoing joint research and technology promotion around major scientific innovation issues including digital twin technology for vascular intervention, interventional surgical navigation and early-warning technology, robotic autonomous surgery technology, and intelligent surgical ecosystems. It strives to build a domestically leading medical-engineering integrated research force, effectively promote the application of artificial intelligence+clinical technologies, improve the regional level of interventional professional technology and advanced technological innovation, and build a regionally first-class specialty in minimally invasive interventional treatment. Subspecialty Introduction After nearly 30 years of accumulation and development, the Center has gradually established subspecialties including comprehensive tumor intervention, intervention for critical and emergency conditions, and intervention for peripheral vascular diseases. Among these, the specialized directions of vascular intervention for tumors, tumor ablation and particle implantation, interventional hemostasis for hemorrhagic diseases, comprehensive interventional treatment of portal hypertension, interventional treatment of thrombotic diseases, interventional treatment of obstructive diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, and interventional treatment of peripheral vascular diseases have developed rapidly, with mature technologies and a profound foundation in clinical practice and research. In recent years, breakthroughs have been achieved in the interventional treatment of critical conditions such as extensive pulmonary embolism, acute superior mesenteric artery embolism (especially atrial fibrillation-related arterial embolism), refractory gastrointestinal obstruction, and senile cholelithiasis, as well as in translational medicine. The department places patients at the center and has established full-process management from initial consultation, surgical preparation, and interventional surgery through perioperative treatment, return visits, and follow-up tracking. The emergency procedures for emergency interventional surgery have been improved. The quality of diagnosis and treatment in the interventional specialty has been continuously improved, significantly increasing the patients' cure rate. Scientific Research and Teaching The Center focuses on in-depth research in clinical subspecialties, medical-engineering integration, artificial intelligence+clinical, and other fields. It conducts relevant scientific research mainly on evidence-based evaluation of interventional clinical technologies, precision medicine, integrative medicine, translational treatment, clinical experimental research on new instruments, equipment, and technologies, and the development and clinical application of new medical-engineering integration technologies. It is the Interventional Specialty Group of the National Medical Device Clinical Trial Institution. It has established an interventional surgery database and an interventional imaging database (accumulated over 20 years, nearly 50000 cases). It cooperates with several domestic Double First-Class universities, scientific research institutes, and R&D institutions to develop vascular intervention navigation and autonomous surgery systems. In recent years, it has published more than 80 professional papers, with nearly 20 indexed by SCI; applied for and obtained nearly 20 patents; chief-edited and co-edited 8 textbooks and 6 monographs; participated in formulating 1 industry standard; and undertaken multiple research projects at various levels. The Center undertakes teaching tasks for several medical schools and has a master's student training site in interventional radiology under the specialties of imaging medicine and nuclear medicine. Talent Development The Center attaches importance to talent development and has cultivated a well-structured disciplinary talent pipeline by combining in-house training with talent recruitment. This has provided a talent reserve for disciplinary development and consolidated the foundation for development. At the same time, it has addressed technical weaknesses in the discipline by sending personnel for training and through recruitment. This has laid the foundation for the sustainable development of the discipline and for its expansion and strengthening. Editing time: 2026/5/20 15:43:59
