This ICU is a key specialty of Shandong and Qingdao and one of Qingdao’s earliest comprehensive ICUs. The East Hospital ICU has 16 beds, 11 doctors and 50 nurses, with ventilators, monitors, blood filtration, PICCO, ECMO, cooling blankets, fiberoptic bronchoscopy and blood-gas analyzers. It treats high-risk postoperative patients, cardiopulmonary-cerebral resuscitation, poisoning, drowning/electric shock, severe infection and septic shock, ARDS, pulmonary embolism, respiratory failure, acute left-heart failure, complex arrhythmia, severe pancreatitis, acute hepatic/renal failure, multiple trauma, diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar coma and multiorgan failure. It performs targeted septic-shock therapy, protective ARDS ventilation, bedside bronchoscopy and blood purification, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, minimally invasive tracheostomy and ECMO.
