East Campus Health Care Department 2

Ward 2 of the Healthcare Department at the East Campus of Qingdao Municipal Hospital is a comprehensive ward under the Qingdao Cadre Healthcare Center, admitting mainly serving and retired leading cadres. It mainly diagnoses and treats common internal medicine diseases, frequently occurring diseases and intractable cases, and has particularly rich clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, endocrine and metabolic diseases, neurological diseases and geriatric diseases.

At present, Department 1 of Cadre Healthcare has achieved particularly notable results in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases: it not only possesses the Qingdao Common Disease Laboratory – Asthma Laboratory, but has also introduced advanced programs and instruments such as the special allergen skin prick test and pulmonary function testing devices. Its standardized diagnosis and treatment of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cor pulmonale, chronic respiratory failure, lung cancer, bronchiectasis and respiratory infectious diseases including severe pneumonia, as well as diabetes, coronary heart disease, hypertension and metabolic syndrome, are deeply welcomed by the great number of patients.

The department maintains a good technical cooperative relationship with the WOOLCOCK Respiratory Research Institute of the University of Sydney, Australia, and WESTMEAD HOSPITAL. Its main basic research directions include: genetic engineering of asthma, molecular biology-related research on asthma and diabetes, and molecular biology-related research on the correlation between asthma and metabolic syndrome, etc.

In the past 5 years the department has introduced 8 new technologies and new services and published more than 30 papers in national statistical source journals. In the past 5 years, 2 physicians have successively gone to Germany for further study, 1 person serves as vice chairman of the Respiratory Branch of the Shandong Medical Association, 1 person serves as vice chairman of the Respiratory Branch of the Qingdao Medical Association, and 1 person serves as vice chairman of the Healthcare Branch of the Qingdao Medical Association. Department 1 of Cadre Healthcare is currently a respiratory specialty of the National Clinical Pharmacology Base and a joint master's training site of the Medical College of Shandong University and Weifang Medical College.

The ward is surrounded by beautiful scenery and shaded by green trees, has its own separate parking lot, and the wards are clean, tidy and comfortable with complete supporting facilities; hot water is supplied 24 hours a day, and facilities such as microwave ovens and air conditioners are provided for convenient use.
