3. History and Development of the Department
With the rapid rise in the reputation of the Second Outpatient Department and its gradual expansion, talent cultivation became the top priority for sustaining the team’s further growth. Accordingly, the Department of Comprehensive Teaching came into being in 2012. Its first department director was Associate Chief Physician Li Deli; its head nurse was Li Ying; and its second department director was Associate Chief Physician Zhao Xuezhu. After seven years of development, the teaching department also grew, evolving from training personnel for our hospital to training outstanding young physicians for both our hospital and other hospitals; and from a teaching model centered mainly on conservative dentistry and endodontics to a standardized and rigorous general-dentistry teaching model that consistently included daily summaries, regular study, case discussions, and so on. In addition, the Department of Comprehensive Teaching regularly conducts systematic case-based learning, literature presentations, discussions of scientific research work, and other activities, laying a foundation for training outstanding young physicians. All these improvements constitute the history of the teaching department’s rapid growth.
The Department of Comprehensive Teaching has a relatively large membership, consisting mainly of young medical and nursing personnel. The team atmosphere is lively, the sense of teamwork is strong, and together they form a young and outstanding medical and nursing team!
