Comprehensive Prevention Department

The Comprehensive Prevention Department is a specialized comprehensive department integrating oral preventive care, conservative dentistry and endodontics, periodontal treatment, oral surgery, and prosthodontics, and has a physician team comprising several doctors with intermediate-level professional titles and extensive clinical and teaching experience. Daily medical work includes the prediction and prevention of caries in individuals and populations; the prevention of common oral diseases and oral hygiene guidance; the clinical diagnosis and treatment of common caries, pulpal diseases, and periapical diseases; the clinical diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases; simple and complex tooth extractions; fixed dental prostheses and esthetic restorations; and oral health education in communities, kindergartens, and schools. In addition to routine comprehensive oral treatment capabilities, each physician also provides specialized treatments such as laser caries detection, tooth whitening, esthetic dental restorations, painless local anesthesia, minimally invasive periodontal treatment, and minimally invasive tooth extraction.

The doctors in the department each have their own professional areas of focus; communication among physicians is timely and effective, facilitating intra-department consultations and patient referrals and helping to establish a complete, comprehensive, and systematic treatment plan for complex interdisciplinary cases, thereby providing patients, to the greatest extent possible, with a convenient and efficient “one-stop” medical care process.

The department has established the ““Love Your Teeth, Protect Your Teeth”” WeChat Official Account. The account’s platform contains nearly 30 original popular-science articles and 3 videos about oral cleaning methods that were independently scripted, directed, and recorded. The account’s QR code is posted in the outpatient lobby and at prominent locations in the department, making it convenient for every patient entering the outpatient clinic or this department to scan the code, follow the account, and read and learn independently; it has received a good response among patients. The nursing team is skilled at working with physicians, using oral teaching aids, slides, videos, the official WeChat account, and other methods to explain oral preventive healthcare knowledge and individualized oral hygiene guidance to every patient receiving care, effectively providing high-quality nursing services.

All medical and nursing personnel in the department regularly carry out oral preventive healthcare activities in community areas, kindergartens, and schools, such as popular-science publicity on oral health knowledge, oral health education and promotion, oral examinations, and free clinic consultations; every year on National Teeth-Loving Day, they also organize oral science-popularization activities.
