Paediatrics

The Department of Pediatrics was established in 1952 and has a glorious and long history. Several successive directors of pediatrics have been renowned and highly influential experts in the field of pediatrics. Among them, Professor Zhou Huakang was one of the founders of the Capital Institute of Pediatrics, and Professor Yuan Chengwen served as deputy editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Pediatrics. The Department of Pediatrics also received a Beijing Municipal Advanced Collective award. Through the joint efforts of several generations of medical experts and all medical staff, the Department of Pediatrics has developed comprehensively and became a national key discipline in 2001, with hematology, neurology, and neonatology as its specialties. The pediatric outpatient and emergency services are open 24 hours a day, providing diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents under 16.
