The Emergency Department was founded in 1983 and became a national key specialty in 2012. It has 30 emergency physicians, over 60 nurses, a 20-bed resuscitation room and a 10-bed monitoring unit, with rapid pathways for myocardial infarction, gastrointestinal bleeding and stroke.
