Trauma Treatment Center
The “Trauma Treatment Center” is the first multidisciplinary cluster model established by People's Hospital. On the basis of the steady development of multiple disciplines at People's Hospital, it was established around the goals and tasks of treating severe trauma as a multidisciplinary cluster characterized by “resource sharing, complementary strengths, and collaborative problem-solving.” For severe multiple and combined trauma involving multiple disciplines, it fully leverages the complementary strengths among disciplines and effectively improves the treatment rate of patients with major trauma.
The admission criteria for the “Trauma Treatment Center” are strictly defined: patients must have severe combined multiple trauma; patients involving 2 or more anatomical sites or systems who require multidisciplinary treatment. Specifically, admission is limited to patients with multiple trauma (AIS involving 2 or more anatomical sites) whose ISS score is greater than 16, GCS score is less than 12, and TI score is greater than 10. Patients who do not have combined multiple trauma will receive treatment in the corresponding department for their condition. Only patients with severe combined multiple trauma involving multiple disciplines will be admitted to the “Trauma Treatment Center.” [Note] ISS (injury severity score) is currently the most commonly used assessment method for evaluating the severity of injuries in patients with injuries to multiple anatomical sites, multiple trauma, and combined trauma.
