Peking University International Hospital

The Department of Urology of Peking University International Hospital was established when the hospital opened in December 2014. Professor Wang Xiaofeng served as its first department director, and the current department director is Professor Xia Ming. Upholding a development philosophy based on a high starting point, the department is building its specialty. Relying on Peking University Health Science Center, with 3 chief physicians at its core and 4 associate chief physicians as its backbone, the department leads young and middle-aged physicians and specialist nurses to form a coordinated development pattern integrating medical care, teaching, and research.

The department’s inpatient ward has 51 open beds, including three-bed rooms, double rooms, VIP single rooms, and 1 isolation room, meeting patients’ individualized needs. Under the leadership of Professor Xia Ming, the department focuses on innovation in the diagnosis and treatment technologies for urinary system diseases and their clinical translation and application, and in recent years has achieved significant results in areas such as clinical urological diagnosis and treatment and minimally invasive surgery.

The department adheres to the diagnostic and treatment philosophy of “everything for the patient, for every patient, and everything for the patient,” providing comprehensive, high-quality services centered on patients. It has developed distinctive subspecialties including urological tumors, urinary stones, prostate diseases, voiding dysfunction, kidney transplantation, and andrological diseases, with experienced physicians providing precise and individualized diagnostic and treatment services.
