The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a professional team established on the basis of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Peking University First Hospital, with talented professionals from three generations: senior, middle-aged, and young. Several department members serve as standing council members, council members, and chairpersons of national and Beijing municipal academic societies, and as editorial board members of national-level and foreign journals. They possess strong capabilities in traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment. The department focuses primarily on digestive system diseases, endocrine and metabolic diseases, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and skin diseases, and has also accumulated extensive clinical experience in using traditional Chinese medicine to regulate sub-health conditions, treat depression in older adults, and provide adjunctive treatment for patients with tumors. Traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture and physical therapy are another distinctive feature of the department. Acupuncture, cupping, thread embedding, and comprehensive traditional Chinese medicine treatments are used to treat various painful conditions, such as cervical spondylosis and lumbar disc herniation; nervous system diseases, such as stroke and facial paralysis; and metabolic disorders, such as obesity, achieving good therapeutic results.
