Cardiac Surgery

Cardiac Surgery is a key specialty prioritized for development by our hospital; the team currently brings together not only top domestic experts in the fields of the heart and great vessels, but also young core surgeons, all of whom come from the Fuwai and Anzhen hospital systems and have completed rigorous cardiac surgery skills training. It has now developed into a major surgical center for complex cardiac lesions in the northern Beijing region, equipped with fully imported surgical instruments and international-standard hardware and equipment.

Cardiac Surgery is a department based on a new integrated concept, bringing together advanced preoperative management, precision surgical treatment, critical care monitoring, and cardiac rehabilitation training. It adopts the internationally acclaimed Heart Team model, bringing together experienced surgeons, internists, and ultrasound imaging physicians, along with rehabilitation therapists and pharmacists, to formulate safe, efficient, individualized treatment plans for patients.

The department's treatment areas cover great-vessel surgery, congenital heart disease, complex valvular disease, severe coronary heart disease, and cardiomyopathy. The team makes full use of the hospital's strengths—strong specialty capabilities and comprehensive capacity—works closely with other sister departments in joint consultations, and has successfully diagnosed and treated patients with various complex diseases in other organ systems, achieving coordinated heart–multiorgan treatment. The surgical patient population ranges from infants under 1 year of age to elderly people over 90 years of age. It provides high-quality cardiac surgical treatment services for patients with a wide range of diseases across all age groups.
