Familial Hereditary Tumor Center
The Center for Familial Hereditary Tumors aims to provide professional genetic counseling, susceptibility gene testing and result interpretation, as well as disease-risk assessment and precise individualized treatment for patients with familial hereditary breast cancer and high-risk individuals. For healthy women carrying BRCA mutations, it provides breast cancer risk assessment and early diagnosis, as well as possible preventive interventions, to minimize the risk of developing breast cancer; for breast cancer patients with mutations, it provides precise surgical treatment and targeted adjuvant chemotherapy and targeted therapy, enabling patients with familial hereditary breast cancer to achieve the best possible treatment outcomes. The Center has also developed the BRCA-CRisk prediction model for the risk of contralateral breast cancer in patients with BRCA mutations. This model can accurately predict the risk of contralateral breast cancer in patients with BRCA mutations and helps physicians and patients decide whether to implement prophylactic mastectomy. Professor Xie Yuntao, the academic leader, has long been dedicated to research and clinical diagnosis and treatment of familial hereditary breast cancer. He was the first in China to carry out clinical testing and clinical practice for the breast cancer susceptibility gene BRCA and has accumulated extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of familial hereditary breast cancer. The motto of the Center is “Discover one mutation, benefit one family.” Detecting one patient with a mutation is not only beneficial for precise personalized treatment of the mutation carrier; it is also beneficial for managing the tumor risk of the entire family and for eugenics and healthy reproduction. The Center adheres to the principle that “Patients’ interests are our direction of effort” and is wholeheartedly committed to providing high-quality specialized clinical services for patients with familial hereditary breast cancer.
The Center provides the following distinctive medical services:
1. Professional interpretation of breast cancer susceptibility gene testing results and disease-risk assessment 2. Early diagnosis and preventive intervention for people at high risk of breast cancer 3. Precise surgery and individualized treatment for patients with BRCA-mutated breast cancer 4. Precise prediction of contralateral disease risk in patients with BRCA mutations (BRCA-CRisk) 5. Health management and eugenics and healthy reproduction for families at high risk due to BRCA mutations 6. A series of clinical studies for patients with BRCA-mutated breast cancer
Patients with BRCA-mutated breast cancer who wish to learn about their contralateral disease risk or participate in clinical research may contact Teacher Yao or Teacher Zhang at the Center. Tel.: 010-88196025.
