Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a relatively complete system of treatment that took shape in China over thousands of years. The TCM concept of health is mainly based on dual balance (hot and cold, yin and yang, sorrow and joy). If one element grows in isolation, it may cause “qi” or vital qi to flow poorly through the meridians. TCM physicians generally use acupuncture and herbal medicine to help patients unblock the meridians and invigorate the vessels, reestablish balance, and restore health. Acupuncture is a branch of TCM and also one of the complementary therapies. Physicians insert silver needles the size of sewing needles into the patient’s meridians and, by stimulating acupoints, help patients regulate the balance of vital qi and promote metabolism. The physicians in Baihui Medical’s Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Department can treat the following diseases: Department Services Migraine and tension headaches Sinusitis Addiction treatment, smoking cessation Trigeminal neuralgia Ménière’s disease Sciatica Arthritis Dysmenorrhea Fibromyalgia Lower back pain Insomnia Infertility Other
