Ultrasound Department
The Department of Ultrasound Medicine of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University was established in the late 1970s and is one of the pioneering units of obstetric and gynecological ultrasound diagnosis and treatment in China. Since its establishment, the department has always kept pace with the times and was the first in the country to carry out the application of various ultrasound technologies in obstetrics and gynecology, including ultrasound for fetal anomaly screening, fetal echocardiography, intracavitary color Doppler ultrasound, obstetric and gynecological interventional ultrasound, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, pelvic floor ultrasound, etc. In 1996 it reported for the first time in China the successful transplantation of in vitro fertilized embryos obtained by ultrasound-guided transvaginal oocyte retrieval, and in 2006 it successfully performed ultrasound-guided intrauterine fetal blood transfusion in East China.
