Health Checkup Centre
Health Examination Center
The Health Examination Center of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated with Fudan University was established in 2004. In recent years, with the continuous development of our hospital, it has also undergone tremendous expansion. The Health Examination Center currently has three subspecialties: gynecological health examinations, a preconception clinic, and a non-programmed immunization clinic. The department has 11 medical and nursing staff members, including 2 physicians with senior professional titles and 5 physicians with intermediate professional titles. The department’s development goal is to become a comprehensive specialty in women’s preventive health care and safeguard women’s health.
Over the years, department leaders have emphasized the training of medical and nursing staff and improved the quality of gynecological disease screening. A breast ultrasound physician and a breast surgeon dedicated to the department have been introduced, improving the level of breast disease examinations. The Health Examination Center now conducts tens of thousands of health examinations every year and detects a large number of common and frequently occurring diseases, including early breast cancer and cervical cancer, providing substantial assistance for the early diagnosis and early treatment of malignant tumors and greatly increasing the cure rate for the two cancers.
In recent years, our department has also launched preconception examination services, providing support for healthy reproduction. In particular, for high-risk groups troubled by various diseases or with a history of adverse childbirth outcomes, it provides preconception screening and counseling services, offers advice on whether and how they should become pregnant, and safeguards the reproductive safety of high-risk groups.
Since 2018, our department has provided HPV vaccination, meeting the public’s increasingly strong demand for health, responding to social needs, and contributing to a substantial reduction in the incidence of cervical cancer.
The department’s main medical services:
1. Routine gynecological physical examination
2. Vaginal discharge examination: routine vaginal discharge examination, bacterial vaginosis examination, HPV viral testing, liquid-based cytology of cervical epithelial cells, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae cultures, etc.
3. Special blood tests: gynecological tumor marker testing, testing of female sex hormone levels and endocrine status, etc.
