The Dental Anesthesiology Department of Nanjing Stomatological Hospital has operated since the early 1980s. Its 35 staff include 1 chief physician, 7 deputy chief physicians, 2 attending physicians, 3 residents and 21 nurses. Eight modern laminar-flow operating rooms, 6 PACU beds and more than 70 advanced devices support adult and pediatric anesthesia. Nearly 4,000 operations are completed yearly, including more than 3,600 under general anesthesia, with special expertise in difficult airways and painless dental care.
