The Department of Breast Diseases at the International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital has a history of more than 20 years and was the earliest independent specialty established among Shanghai’s tertiary specialized hospitals. Through the efforts of several generations, the number of beds in the department has increased from the initial 10 to the current 45, placing it among the leading departments of its kind in Shanghai; the department has a highly qualified and technically skilled team of physicians, all of whom hold master’s degrees or higher; the department not only focuses on medical care itself, but also on medical-related nursing, building an excellent medical and nursing team. The department’s overall medical, teaching, and research standards, as well as its related nursing care, have consistently been at the forefront nationally.
