Gynaecology

Gynecology is a core discipline of our hospital, with a gynecology outpatient clinic, a Cervical Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center, and three gynecology wards with 124 beds, integrating clinical care, scientific research, and teaching; its diagnostic and therapeutic scope covers all gynecological diseases. As early as the 1970s, it was the first in Shanghai to perform hysteroscopic and laparoscopic diagnosis and surgery; at present, gynecological surgery at our hospital is developing toward comprehensive minimally invasive treatment, and the proportion of hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgical treatment in gynecological surgery has reached more than 80%. The Department of Gynecology is one of the earliest national physician training bases for advanced endoscopic surgery approved for establishment by the National Health and Family Planning Commission. Its capabilities in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological malignant tumors, correction of female reproductive tract malformations, and diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the female pelvic floor and urinary system are at a leading level in Shanghai. To standardize the diagnosis and treatment of cervical diseases, I took the lead in establishing a multidisciplinary Cervical Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center to strengthen the treatment and follow-up of cervical diseases and reduce the incidence of cervical cancer. The Department of Gynecology undertakes a number of national-level and Shanghai-level clinical research tasks and has achieved multiple research results.
