| Basic Overview |-------------- The Department of General Surgery of Huashan Hospital (Hongqiao Campus) is one of the branch centers of the Department of General Surgery of Huashan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University. Drawing on the hospital’s strengths and after several years of development at the Hongqiao Campus, it has formed a service philosophy guided by “Medical quality above all, patients first!”, and has already gained considerable influence in western Shanghai, not only meeting the medical-care needs of nearby residents but also continuing to attract patients from surrounding provinces and cities and even from across China and around the world. The Department of General Surgery (Hongqiao Campus) currently has 1 physician with a full senior professional title, 4 with associate senior professional titles, 5 attending physicians, and 40 beds. In accordance with the hospital’s Hongqiao Campus deployment of “large specialty, strong comprehensiveness”, under the leadership of Professor Tang Yifan, director of the center and academic leader, it emphasizes standardized and minimally invasive care principles, ensuring medical quality. | Medical Features |-------------- Clinical features 1. Gastrointestinal tract tumors: (1)Laparoscopic D2 radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer and standardized procedures such as TME and CME for colorectal cancer are performed; (2)A standardized treatment model for locally advanced rectal cancer is implemented, with laparoscopic ultra-low anus-preserving surgery, TaTME, and ISR surgery, relying on the Hongqiao Campus Radiotherapy Center to provide neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and surgery as a “one-stop” service according to individual circumstances, offering the greatest opportunity to preserve the anus while reducing the local recurrence rate to the greatest extent. 2. Diagnosis and treatment of anorectal diseases: Transanal endoscopic minimally invasive surgery, excision of perianal diseases, anal reconstructive surgery, and treatment of various complex fistulas are performed; 3. Repair of various difficult abdominal wall hernias is performed laparoscopically and through open surgery for inguinal hernias, incisional hernias, parastomal hernias, and linea alba hernias, with extensive experience in all types of recurrent hernias; 4:Minimally invasive treatment of gallbladder and biliary tract diseases is performed using choledochoscopy combined with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, and laparoscopic surgery for bile duct stones, liver tumors; 5:Diagnosis and treatment of thyroid and breast diseases: Open and endoscopic surgery for benign and malignant thyroid and breast tumors is performed, taking both therapeutic efficacy and cosmesis into account.6: The interdisciplinary integration feature adopts the extraperitoneal puncture method uniquely developed by this department to assist the Department of Neurosurgery in performing laparoscopic ventriculoperitoneal shunt surgery. | Research |-------------- In terms of research, the department has undertaken multiple research projects of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, and has published more than 20 academic papers in international SCI journals and domestic authoritative and core journals.
