Magnetic Resonance Imaging Diagnosis Department

The Department of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Diagnosis of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University is a comprehensive clinical auxiliary department integrating medical services, teaching, and scientific research. It undertakes magnetic resonance examinations and diagnostic work for all outpatients, inpatients, and people undergoing health examinations at the hospital, as well as some of the teaching and scientific research work of the university and the hospital. It currently has 15 physicians, 14 technologists, and 1 nurse.

The department was established at the end of 1995. After more than twenty years of development, in terms of hardware, it has grown from one magnetic resonance device at that time (a German Siemens SIEMENSMAGNETOM Harmone 1.5T scanner) and one outpatient office location into a department with eight devices (a German Siemens SIEMENSMAGNETOM Harmone 1.5T scanner, a Philips Achieva 3.0T X―Series scanner, a Philips Achieva 1.5T scanner, a Neusoft 1.5T scanner, a Philips multi-source-transmit magnetic resonance Achieva 3.0T TX scanner, a GE1.5T scanner, and 2 GE3.0T scanners) and four work locations (the Outpatient Building, the Surgery Building, the Second Inpatient Department, and the Eighth Inpatient Department). In terms of scanner software, the department has a team of experienced and highly skilled professional technologists and diagnostic personnel. The clarity of its images and its level of imaging diagnosis are both at the forefront within the province.
