Based on solid theoretical foundations, rich clinical experience, and superb surgical skills, our team provides patients with high-standard, specialized “minimally invasive” medical services. On the basis of performing routine gynecological endoscopic examinations and routine endoscopic surgeries, it actively explores, learns, and applies cutting-edge minimally invasive technologies, and is committed to providing patients with the most authoritative diagnoses, the most standardized treatment, and the highest-quality nursing care. The department emphasizes innovation and has successfully performed “myomectomy preserving endometrial integrity,” “myomectomy preserving the neurovascular bundle of the pseudocapsule,” and “chocolate cyst stripping with minimal ovarian injury”; before assisted reproduction, “salpingectomy preserving the mesosalpinx vessels”; and, for early cervical cancer and endometrial cancer, “fertility-preserving surgery,” along with a series of cutting-edge, advantageous minimally invasive techniques, with the aim of maximizing the reduction of female reproductive organ injury, preserving fertility, and optimizing quality of life.
Professor Kong Xianchao, director of the ward, began working in gynecological endoscopy in 1998. He is a pioneer in the field of gynecological minimally invasive care in Heilongjiang Province and the founder of gynecological endoscopy at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University. In 1998, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and colposcopy were carried out simultaneously; at the time, this was called “the three scopes determine everything.” In 2008, the endoscopy ward was established with the strong support of hospital leadership and amid a broader effort to develop the minimally invasive concept. Through the concerted efforts of all medical and nursing staff, gynecological endoscopy at our hospital has developed into an endoscopy department with international influence and a first-class standing in the province. In 2011, the gynecological endoscopy ward was recognized as a Level IV Gynecological Endoscopy Surgery Training Base of the Ministry of Health. In 2013, it was the first in the world to apply “natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES)” technology. Director Kong Xianchao successfully performed surgery to treat gynecological diseases such as ovarian cysts and ectopic pregnancy, helping women who value their appearance achieve “scarless surgery.” In 2014, it was the first to apply the concept of “Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS)” in the gynecological field, accelerating patients’ postoperative recovery and reducing their hospital stays. At the same time, the endoscopy outpatient clinic launched “one-day outpatient” diagnosis and treatment services; through coordination and cooperation with other departments, it shortened patients’ waiting times, improved the conditions for receiving care, and provided patients with humanized, high-quality medical and nursing services. In 2017 and 2018, Director Kong Xianchao successively founded the Heilongjiang Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and the Gynecological Minimally Invasive Professional Committee of the Heilongjiang Maternal and Child Health Care and Eugenics Association, and served as chairperson, continuing to lead and promote the development of gynecological minimally invasive care in Heilongjiang Province. In 2019, it was the first in our hospital to perform da Vinci robotic gynecological laparoscopic surgery, marking Heilongjiang Province’s entry into a new stage in the field of gynecological minimally invasive care. Since its establishment, the department has gradually developed into a gynecological endoscopy diagnosis and treatment center with internationally and nationally leading standards and the greatest influence in the province. Medical care, teaching, and research have advanced in parallel; the department has received honors such as the “Medical Safety Award” many times, undertaken multiple research projects at various levels, won 12 Medical New Technology Achievement Awards, and published more than 100 papers in international and domestic core journals.
