General Surgery Ward 6 (Vascular Surgery)
The Department of Vascular Surgery of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University was established in January 2022. The department has 10 physicians and 11 nurses. Under the leadership of Director Huang Renping, the vascular surgery team has achieved excellent results in treating vascular surgical diseases, including lower-extremity arterial atherosclerotic occlusive disease, diabetic foot, lower-extremity venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, lower-extremity varicose veins, subclavian artery occlusion, abdominal aortic aneurysm, thoracic aortic dissection, hemangiomas, and vascular malformations. In 2022, the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University established the first outpatient clinic for hemangiomas and vascular malformations in Heilongjiang Province. The Department of Vascular Surgery of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University has now developed into one of China’s leading vascular surgery centers integrating medical care, teaching, and scientific research.
The Department of Vascular Surgery currently has 40 operational beds, more than 30,000 outpatient visits annually, more than 4,000 inpatients admitted annually, and an annual surgical volume of more than 3,000 procedures. Our hospital is equipped with an interventional catheterization laboratory and a hybrid operating room. Our department has developed a number of new technologies, all of which have achieved satisfactory therapeutic results, including minimally invasive, zero-incision endovascular treatment of thoracoabdominal aortic dissection and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm; excimer-laser atherectomy of lower-extremity arteries; intravascular plaque debulking and rotational atherectomy of lower-extremity arteries; catheter aspiration for pulmonary embolism; aspiration thrombectomy for lower-extremity arterial and venous thrombosis; minimally invasive, zero-incision cosmetic treatment of lower-extremity varicose veins; sclerotherapy and injection therapy for infantile hemangiomas; and interventional embolization for hemangiomas and vascular malformations. For type 2 diabetic foot, the department uses one-stop treatment combining revascularization and wound debridement, with results favorably evaluated and recognized by patients. To provide patients with better treatment outcomes, our department actively collaborates with the Department of Vascular Surgery of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, seeking integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment for peripheral vascular diseases, diabetic foot, and other conditions, in order to achieve better therapeutic results.
