Songbei–General Surgery Department
Songbei Department of General Surgery was established in 2018 and currently has 2 chief physicians, 6 deputy chief physicians, 6 attending physicians, and 1 resident physician, including 1 person with a postdoctoral degree, 3 PhDs, and 2 doctoral candidates. Under the leadership of Director Ding Mingfeng, our department has been engaged in research on tumors and their clinical treatment. At present, basic research on breast cancer and gastrointestinal tumors has entered a new stage, and we are striving to reach an advanced level domestically. The breast-conserving surgery for early breast cancer and catheterization chemotherapy via the subclavian artery for breast cancer performed by our department have achieved good clinical results; the department also has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of benign breast diseases. Our department is currently vigorously carrying out comprehensive treatment of gastric cancer and colorectal cancer, as well as surgery, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. At the same time, it has reached a high level in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases and biliary tract and pancreatic diseases. As a specialty feature, it has also launched minimally invasive surgical treatment for anal canal and rectal diseases, and conducts in-depth research on constipation, anal canal and rectal tumors, fecal incontinence, rectal prolapse, severe perianal abscesses, and other conditions. In recent years, the department has been actively introducing new technologies. For difficult and complicated diseases, remote MDT diagnosis and treatment can be conducted with well-known experts in China. The volume of endoscopic minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery has repeatedly reached new highs, and minimally invasive rotary-cutting surgery of the breast and thyroid has received high praise from patients. In the future, the department will also introduce robotic surgery to provide patients at large with more internationally oriented minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Our department has currently received multiple Provincial Medical New Technology Application Awards, undertaken more than 10 provincial-level scientific research projects, and published more than 20 academic papers. The department currently mainly engages in the diagnosis and treatment of common and frequently occurring general-surgery diseases such as gastric and colorectal tumors, pancreatic diseases, hepatobiliary diseases, thyroid and breast diseases, and hernias, and also has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of acute abdomen.
